The Cisco QSFP-40GE-LR4 transceiver module is a high-performance, hot-swappable device that enables you to extend the reach of your 40 Gigabit Ethernet (40 GbE) network over single-mode fiber (SMF) up to 10 kilometers (km). It uses four lasers to transmit and receive data at different wavelengths (1310 nm), a technique known as Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM). This allows for high-density, long-distance data transmission over a single strand of fiber.
