Cisco CFP-40G-SR4 transceiver modules are hot-swappable devices used for high-bandwidth 40 Gigabit Ethernet connections in data centers, enterprises, and service provider networks. They are designed for use with Cisco switches and routers that have 40 Gigabit Ethernet CFP ports. These modules support data transmission over multimode fiber cables (OM3 or OM4) with lengths of up to 100 meters (OM3) or 150 meters (OM4). They use 850nm wavelength lasers and connect using female MPO/MTP connectors with 12 fibers. This allows for transmission of 40 Gigabit Ethernet signals over multiple fibers simultaneously.
