Description
The Cisco SFP-10G-SR-X is a multirate small form-factor pluggable (SFP+) transceiver module that supports data transmission rates of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) over short distances using multimode fiber (MMF). It’s designed for use in data centers, enterprise wiring closets, and service provider transport applications.
The key feature of the SFP-10G-SR-X is its extended operating temperature range, making it suitable for environments with wider temperature variations. It supports three different types of connections: 10GBASE-SR (for up to 300 meters on OM3 MMF), 10GBASE-SW (for short-wave applications), and OTU2/OTU2e (for dense wavelength-division multiplexing applications).
The SFP-10G-SR-X utilizes an LC duplex connector and operates at a wavelength of 850nm. It offers low power consumption and digital diagnostics monitoring for real-time performance tracking. While the minimum cabling distance is 2 meters, the maximum achievable distance depends on the type of MMF cable used (FDDI-grade, OM3, or OM4).
