Description
The Cisco CWDM-MUX8A is a now end-of-life (EOL) module that functioned as a CWDM multiplexer and demultiplexer. It allowed users to combine (multiplex) eight separate data signals onto a single strand of fiber optic cable, each utilizing a different wavelength within the CWDM range. This effectively increased the bandwidth capacity of a single fiber. Conversely, the demultiplexer function separated the combined signals back into their individual wavelengths at the receiving end.
